Transapical valve-in-valve implantation as a treatment option for structural degeneration of an aortic bioprosthesis.

چکیده
used to perforate the oval foramen was novel and an alternative to transeptal catheterization and the radiofrequency technique. We used a Cross-It 200 guidewire (Guidant) normally used to completely unblock coronary vessels, which is characterized by a greater push capacity, as well as a sharp distal end of up to 0.010 inches, capable of perforating cardiac structures and atresic valves using a rotating maneuver, as demonstrated in this report.4

Emergency transapical mitral valve-in-valve implantation for bioprosthesis failure: transapical implantation of an Edwards Sapien-XT in a dysfunctional mitral bioprosthesis in a critical patient
Background: Valve-in-Valve (VIV) Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) is now the treatment of choice in high-surgical-risk patients with failing aortic bioprosthesis. Although less performed, VIV-Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR) is a valid treatment option for selected high-risk patients with degenerated mitral bioprostheses. Several cases of elective ViVTAVR and -TMVR hav...

Re-operative heart-valve replacement is a high-risk procedure and even more so in elderly patients. Another option in high-risk patients with a degenerated aortic xenograft is the implant of a second aortic bioprosthesis using a transcatheter approach. We report two cases of patients with a severely degenerated porcine aortic bioprosthesis who were successfully treated by a transapical valve-in...

Transcatheter valve implantation is a novel interventional technique, which was developed as an alternative therapy for surgical aortic valve replacement in inoperable patients with severe aortic stenosis. Despite limited experience in using transcatheter valve implantation for mitral and aortic regurgitation, transapical transcatheter aortic valve implantation and valve-in-valve implantation ...
متن کاملTransapical aortic valve implantation using a Symetis Acurate self-expandable bioprosthesis: initial outcomes of 10 patients
INTRODUCTION Transapical aortic valve implantation (TA-AVI) has been widely introduced for treatment of patients with severe aortic stenosis in the last decade. Here we report our first clinical experience with 10 patients using the second-generation transapical Symetis Acurate TA aortic valve designed for transapical implantation. AIM To evaluate the results of transapical access in transcat...
متن کاملImprovement of Mitral Regurgitation after Transapical Transcatheter Aortic Valve Bioprosthesis Implantation
Background/Introduction Implantation of transcatheter aortic bioprosthesis has become a procedure with increasingly relevance in medical practice for the treatment of aortic stenosis, especially in patients with high or prohibitive surgical risk for traditional surgery. The presence of mitral regurgitation (MR) may be associated with increased morbidity and mortality, however, some studies have...
